Next Gen News #3

Welcome to Episode #3 of CraveOnline's weekly gaming podcast, Next Gen News. For those who've been with us over the previous two weeks, you know the deal. For those who haven't, firstly, shame on you, and secondly, here's how it works: we aim to deliver 10 gaming news items (or less) in 10 minutes (or less). Next Gen News isn't your typical podcast where we yack yack yack for an hour and leave you feeling like your ears were just raped by two man-children. Next Gen News is like smooth jazz. We're like the Kenny G of the podcast community. Minus those glorious locks of his.

This week Joey Davidson and myself discuss how Halo: Reach is planned to be a technical marvel, how you can obtain a copy of the Bioshock 2 soundtrack without having to throwing down for the collector's edition, Mass Effect 2's DLC woes, the ridiculous achievements of Mega Man 10 (literally, these will make you cry), and MumboJumbo's lawsuit against PopCap. And if you're slightly confused because you have no idea who or what MumboJumbo is, don't worry, we'll explain, just listen on.

We're back! If you chimed in last week you know the deal; the new and improved version of Next Gen News aims to deliver 10 news items (or less) in 10 minutes (or less), all in audio format. You simply click and sit back, we'll do all the heavy lifting with a lot of off-color jokes and "professional" analysis to get you caught up on everything happening in the world of gaming.

This week we touch on the upcoming Tecmo Bowl revival (w00t!), Netflix heading to the Nintendo Wii, Sonic going back to its earliest roots in "Project Needlemouse," music games losing popularity, and how Modern Warfare 2 has been nominated for it's excellence in script writing. Yea, that last one's not a joke. So strap yourself in, this is going to be good.

And finally, you now have a number of ways to listen to our sexy voices. You can tune in via the embedded media player at the bottom of this page, download the show to listen to at a later date (this also allows you to watch porn while simultaneously listening to us), or subscribe to our podcast via iTunes. May we suggest the iTunes subscription, only because the higher the number of subscribers, the better we feel about ourselves. Either way, enjoy!

Next Gen News - Episode #1

January 13th, 2010

Welcome to the inaugural episode of CraveOnline.com's gaming podcast! Remember Next Gen News? So do we, but it's been gone for a while now if you've noticed. But the reason is we've been hard at work developing a new and improved version of Next Gen News. One that doesn't rely on our readers being able to actually, well, read. Hence, podcast format (they are all the rage these days).

So here's the deal: Joey Davidson and I will be double teaming a weekly gaming podcast where we'll discuss all the major happenings in the gaming industry. We do this in order to keep you up to date and give you something to talk about with co-workers while standing around the water cooler. And the hook of this whole ordeal? Listening will only take 10 minutes of your time. We aim to cover 10 news items or less in 10 minutes or less on a weekly basis, or your money back (there is no money involved).

This week we discuss the release window of BioWare's hotly anticipated Star Wars MMO, The Old Republic, the money pit that is the Pokewalker, Xbox's return to classic arcade gaming, the partnership between EA and Random House to promote the upcoming Dante's Inferno game, and much more!

So give a listen and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
