Next Gen News - Episode #37

October 27th, 2010

Hey there, everyone! Welcome back to Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson and myself, Erik Norris.

This week is another light week for gaming news, but Joey and I still manage to find discussion worthy topics. Firstly, Nintendo says that Apple is their biggest competition, not Microsoft or Sony. The developers behind Kirby’s Epic Yarn weigh in and explain the ease in difficulty of their game. We talk about Telltale Game’s Back to the Future: The Game and why it isn’t coming to Wii or Xbox 360. And finally, the rumors were correct, the PSPgo is dropping in price!

Next Gen News - Episode #36

October 20th, 2010

This week’s episode of Next Gen News is a little different. My co-host, Joey Davidson, and I looked at the past week’s gaming news and saw nothing of real interest to discuss. That’s why this week we’re bucking tradition and spending the majority of the episode talking about all the great games, or disappointing ones, that have released recently. But don’t worry, we do still touch on the biggest news tidbits from within the gaming industry, just don’t expect a lot of toilet humor analysis to go along with it.

You can subscribe to Next Gen News via iTunes below, or download the show for later listening. Also, follow us on Twitter at @CraveNGN. Furthermore, let us know what you think of this format; where we break from the norm to just discuss our love of games without all the industry noise surrounding them. See you next week for #37!

Next Gen News - Episode #35

October 13th, 2010

Welcome back to our regularly scheduled program after the epic team-up podcast with The Book Reoprt at the New York Comic-Con. This is Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson and myself, Erik Norris.

This week’s episode covers a few announcements made at NYCC, namely new characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and the classic X-Men Arcade game coming to XBLA and PSN. We continue to hate on the PSPgo in light of a recent price drop rumor. We touch on the recent purchase of iPhone developer ngmoco by Japanese social gaming company DeNA. And finally, the NPDs are changing the way they do stat reporting, so we feel it necessary to comment.

As always, subscribe to our show on iTunes, or download it here for later listening. Follow us on Twitter at @CraveNGN. And until next week, enjoy the show!

Next Gen News - Episode #34

October 6th, 2010

Welcome everyone to Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson and myself, Erik Norris. As we prepare for New York Comic Con this weekend, we still take time out of our schedules to dish on the latest in the world of gaming.

This week’s show covers Panasonic’s new MMO focused gaming handheld, The Panasonic Jungle. We talk about all the controversy surrounding Medal of Honor for its use of the Taliban. We fill you in on the latest in the world of Halo: Reach multiplayer. We drool over new clothing and a certain mythological creature being added to Red Dead Redemption. And we also chime in on why two of the biggest upcoming games have hit delay snags.

As always, you can subscribe to our show on iTunes, or download it via the handy link below for later listening. We also have Twitter, so tweet us at @CraveNGN. Give us your feedback, we love to hear it, then ignore it!

Finally, as we discuss in this week’s episode, Joey and I will both be attending New York Comic Con this weekend, along with comics editor Joey Esposito. We plan to do a special team-up podcast between the guys of Next Gen News (that’s us!) and The Book Report, Crave’s comic podcast. So be on the lookout for that early next week.
