Next Gen News - Episode #70

July 20th, 2011

Welcome to our 70th birthday party. This is Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Joey Davidson, Alex Keen and myself, Erik Norris.

First order of business: sorry for the lack of episode last week, but Joey and his wife were busy ushering their first child into this world. So, you know, that kind of took precedence and big congratulations are in order!

OK, now it’s time to get down to brass tacks. For this 70th anniversary bash we’ve decided to take a trip back into the past and discuss what our biggest gaming influences were. These were the titles that showed us what video games can aspire to be and helped mold our expectations for today’s industry. Listen in for discussion about Yars’ Revenge, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Resident Evil, Halo and Metal Gear Solid.

July 6th, 2011

Welcome back to another edition of Next Gen News, CraveOnline’s weekly gaming podcast with your hosts Erik Norris, Joey Davidson and Alex Keen.

This week’s topic is the controversy surrounding developer Team Bondi and publisher Rockstar. There have been a lot of recent reports of inhumane work conditions for the employees of Team Bondi, as well as Rockstar cutting ties with the developer due to a strained relationship from the 7-year development cycle of L.A. Noire. Erik, Joey and Alex get into the dirt of the issue and try to decipher where the fault lies, if anywhere.

You can subscribe to our show on iTunes, as well as follow us on Twitter (@CraveNGN). See you next week for #70!
