Next Gen News - Episode #108

April 18th, 2012

We're back with a new episode of Next Gen News, CraveOnline's weekly gaming podcast, just like clockwork. Up for discussion this week is the recently-released XBLA title Fez, as well as our humble origins as gaming journalists.

In regards to Fez, we cover pretty much everything about the title. The good. The bad. And, yes, even the ugly. Everyone has an opinion on the six-years-in-development indie darling, and we voice those feelings on the show.

Lastly, to wrap up this week's program we go round-robin style to detail how we got started in this business. We even give a few helpful tips for those trying to break into the gaming journalism industry. So if that's you, pay attention.

Next Gen News - Episode #107

April 11th, 2012

Having arrived home in one piece after the trip back from Boston, the Next Gen News crew decided it was time to pick our favorite games from the show floor at PAX East. Each of us select 2…ish…games from our stack of appointments and floor cruising to discuss.

What ensues is a whole lot of hype generation. Now we wish we had a time machine. Impatience, we hate you so, so much.

Next week, we'll probably be done talking about PAX. Maybe.

PAX East 2012 Special #4

April 8th, 2012

Mike and Joey have officially left the show floor and took to the train station. It was there that they broke out their computer and recorded this show. It was extremely, extremely nerdy.

We talk Tribes, Smite, Fable Heroes, Tera, Max Payne 3, AirMech and more. Listen in, it's glorious…maybe.

We're here on the show floor of PAX East, and we're ready to talk your ears off about the sweet, sweet games we played.

Mike spent time with League of Legends, Joey handled Assassin's Creed and Erik tackled Mark of the Ninja. But, don't worry folks, the party doesn't stop there. We also dive into a bit of Planetside, Tribes, Lollipop Chainsaw, The Witcher 2 and Mortal Kombat for the PS Vita.

We're only one day into the show; we've got two more to go. Keep it locked.

Next Gen News - Episode #106: Hijacked!

April 4th, 2012

We hope you weren't expecting the regular stable of panelists -- Erik Norris, Joey Davidson and Mike White -- for episode #106 of Next Gen News. Because you absolutely will not find them here (check out this week's The Idiot Box *wink wink*). Instead, Next Gen News has been hijacked by CraveOnline's film crew, William Bibbiani, Witney Seibold and special guest Adam Thomas. That's right, the B-Movies Podcast team is talking video games. It's raining cats and dogs. Pigs are flying. And everyone's wearing permanently popped collar Ed Hardy shirts. Anarchy.

On this week's show, Bibbs, "The Professor," and "The Expert" (I'll let you figure out which is which) throw down the gauntlet, choosing to break down the top ten games of the 1990s*. There is shouting; there is crying; and there are dick jokes as the crew discusses "the pinball boom of the 1990s" and more.
